Back to School

It's September already!? That means it's Back to School Time!

Today I am sharing a few BTS cards I made for some special boys, the first one is for Landen.  (You can read about Letters for Landen here).

I used the image "Urban and Modern Boy" from the Paper Shelter on both cards.  Both images were colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers

Additional Supplies: Faded Jeans Distress Inks, Glossy Accents

The second card I made was for my Zachary who is starting 6th Grade this year! I still can't believe I'm old enough to have a Middle Schooler!

I colored this one a little differently, and I reversed the image before printing. I didn't realize until after I printed it and started coloring that the letters were backwards. But there are only a few so I think it works. I went with it anyway.

Independence Day - Let's Celebrate!

Today I am sharing a fun project that I made for Independence Day.

I used two stamp sets by Crafter's Companion - Independence Day & 4th of July to create this scene. I colored the scene with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some more details with the Crystal Clear Sparkle Pen and a white gel pen.

After I colored the image, I placed in the frame. I added some more stars I had stamped and colored to the frame as well as some wood veneer letters that I colored with the Spectrum Noir Markers and a stamped banner and a few sequins.

Love is in the Air

Today I am sharing a scrapbook page I made with one of the new Create-a-Card die sets coming to HSN from Crafter's Companion.  This set is called "Love is in the Air" and it is so so pretty!

It has been a while since I made a full 12x12 scrapbook page! (I was a little nervous about it!).

My cousin was nice enough to let me use one of her wedding photos on the layout. Aren't they just the cutest couple?

The die set comes with a lot of different pieces and can be used in many different ways. I love that it includes small flowers that coordinate perfectly with the larger dies.

I used the Shimmering Cardstock in Pearl Ivory and Black Pearl on all of the die cuts.

I used the Sterling Silver Sparkle Pen to color the ribbon so it matched the rest of the layout.

I used the Vintage Floral Plaid Rose embossing folder to add some texture to the page. The words were cut out on the Silhouette.

*The Love is in the Air die set will be available on HSN on July 11th!*

Congrats Graduate!

Just wanted to share a card I made using the Die'sire Create-a-Card card blanks.
Such an easy way to make some fun shaped cards, and they coordinate perfectly with the Die'sire Create-a-Card dies.

The image on this card is called Grad with Roses by Mo's Digital Pencil.
I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers: TN4 FS9 FS7 FS4 CR2 DR5 TN8 TN9 TN6 IG9 IG7 IG6 EB2 EB1

The sentiment and embellishments are from the Silhouette Design Store.

Bridal Shower Card with *NEW* Die'sire Create-a-Card Dies

Last weekend was my soon-to-be-sister-in-law's Bridal shower. Naturally, I had to make her a super fancy card.

I used some of the new Die'sire dies from Crafter's Companion (coming to HSN on July 11th).

The large heart is a part of the "Love is in the Air" Die set.

The die set also includes these little flowers that fit perfectly over the large heart cut outs. It makes it really easy to add more color and dimension to your projects.  I cut the flowers from Navy Blue and Silver Glittered Cardstock.

The image I used on this card is from The East Wind on Etsy. I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. (Color Palette Below)

End of the Year Thank You Cards

I really had a lot of fun making these end of the school year Thank You cards for the twins' Pre-K teachers.

I used the girl version of the Nerdy Pencils images by 2 Cute Ink. I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors & pin-able palette below).

I used papers from the Doodlebug Design Back to School 6x6 Paper Pad. I cut the "thanks" on the Gemini machine and added Clear Sparkle Pen and Glossy Accents to it.

On the inside I printed one of my favorite sentiments for teachers. This one is from the Silhouette Design store. I wrote a note to the teachers in the blank portion of the card and had the girls sign the cards as well.

New Mom - Mother's Day Card

Wowsers! I can't believe it's been over 2 MONTHS since I've written a blog post. Talk about slacking off...

Today I am sharing a Mother's Day card that I made for my SIL. She just had her first baby earlier this month (I'm finally an Aunt! Woo Hoo!!).

I used the image Baby Snuggle Kaylee by Some Odd Girl

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. The card shape and all the background pieces were made on the Silhouette. I cut the flowers with the Gemini and the Die'sire Nature mini dies.  I added a layer of Crystal Clear Sparkle pen to them to give them a little shimmer and finished them off by putting a little Nuvo Drop in the center of each one.

Spectrum Noir March Challenge

Hey there, I'm just sharing my creation for the Spectrum Noir March challenge. This month the theme is Anything Goes, but there is an optional sketch to use in your creations as well.

I made this card following the sketch. The image is from Some Odd Girl. I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers and added some Crystal Clear Sparkle Pen as well.

I added a doily and some ribbon and flowers to make it a little extra special. This one was going to my friend who has 3 boys. I always try to make her cards extra girly and pretty since she is surrounded by trucks and boys, lol.

It's A Girl!

So many people I know are having babies! Not me! I've done the baby thing. I am really looking forward to meeting and snuggling all these new babies once they get her though.

Today I am sharing the card I made for my Sister-in-Law's baby shower. As you can probably guess, she is having a girl. And I am SUPER excited that I am FINALLY FINALLY going to be an Aunt!

I used one of the adorable new giraffe images from Scrapper's Delights on the card. This one is called Baby Giraffe. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors below).

Since this card wasn't going to be mailed I was able to add a lot of fun details to it, like the shaker rattle (Silhouette Design Store file) and all the flowers.

Happy Easter

Hey there! Today I am sharing the card I made with the new Easter Basket image from Scrapper's Delights.

I paired the Easter Basket with Anna Mae Party Bunny to create this Easter scene.

I colored the images with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors listed below). I added some ribbon from my Paper Temptress Stash. Since the image was so large, I kept the rest of the card fairly simple.

Visit the Scrapper's Delights Blog to see how the rest of the team used the Easter Basket image. You can request your free image on the Scrapper's Delights Facebook Fan Page

You Make Me Smile

Hey look! Another Waaay late post from me. Ha ha! Oops.

I actually had this one started, it just never got finished and posted.

This is a Valentine's Card I made with the adorable Need a Hug Giraffe from Scrapper's Delights. I just love these little giraffes. I actually requested (begged) Janice to draw them for me and she really came through.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors below). The card bases were cut on the Silhouette. The background paper is from Hobby Lobby this year, it's probably by the Paper Studio, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I made 4 of these cards to send to my friend for her to give to her hubby and their 3 boys for Valentine's Day.

Today I just have a quick share of another card I made last month. I used my Spectrum Noir ColourBlend Pencils on Kraft to create this simple card.  Unfortunately I lost my color list so I can't tell you what I used on this one.

Spectrum Noir Coloring Tutorial

Part 2 of my Fair Skin and Red Hair Coloring Tutorial can be found on the Spectrum Noir Blog today.

Crafter's Companion February Projects

So I have been Super Slacker this month! Between the kids being sick and me being sick and some other stressful things happening, my blog was pretty well ignored for the most part. I have been creating, just not blogging.

Today I wanted to go ahead and share a few of the projects I made for Crafter's Companion this month.

First I have a set of cards I made with the Sheena Falling Feathers Stamp set

I stamped the feathers in Versamark and then added clear embossing powder to them. I them went over the background with some Distress Inks and splattered some drops of water on them. I finished them off with sentiments and some soft ribbon.

Next, I have a gift bag that I created with one of the Colorista Glittered Coloring pads.

I just colored it, cut it to the sized I needed and adhered it to the bag. I also cut some flowers from the leftover piece of paper. The glittered coloring pads are so pretty by themselves, I really didn't need to add much to this bag.

And last, but not least, is a card I made with one of the Eastern Promise Colorista coloring pages.

I really love the Pear Green and Cyan Colorista Markers so I decided to use just those 2 colors on this. I kinda love how it turned out.  I stamped the sentiment in a matching ink and finished it off with some Nuvo Crystal drops.

That's all I've got for now! Hopefully I be a better blogger once March rolls around (tomorrow!)

Valentine's From Space

Hey there! Today I am sharing a late Valentine's Day Card. Well, the card was delivered right on time, just waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy behind on my blog posting!

This was the card I made for my oldest. I was trying to avoid too much pink girly lovey dovey crap (LOL) on his card. So I went with a not so traditional Valentine image, Alien 2 by Scrapper's Delights.

My original plan was to have little hearts shooting out of his gun, but as you can see I forgot about it while I was putting the card together. I think it turned out just fine anyway. My son liked it, that's all that really matters. Of course, he like the giftcard that was inside even more!

Have a great week! Hopefully I'll be blogging more often once we all get over these colds, AGAIN!

Today I am sharing the card I made for the new challenge with Spectrum Noir. The theme this month is love, of course. You can use a lovey image or just a Valentine's Day color palette for your Spectrum Noir projects this month.

I used the image Kiss A Prince Tia from Some Odd Girl.

I colored her with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors below).

I added a lot of pink and red embellishments to my card.

I also used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens on Tia's crown (Sterling Silver) and on the frog's crown too (Spun Gold).

Stupid Cupid

Today I have a card I made for Valentine's Day. It's more of an anti-Valentine, Stupid Cupid.

I just love this funny image from Make It Crafty and couldn't wait to make a Valentine's Day card for my sister with him. The image is called Runaway Cupid and I colored it with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers (colors below).

I cut all the elements on the card in the silhouette from plain white paper. I used Mini Distress Inks (Abandoned Coral, Spun Sugar & Picked Raspberry) and the Spectrum Noir Ctystal Clear Sparkle pen to add color to them. The patterned paper is by Doodlebug Studio from a few years ago- still trying to use up that stash! I finished it off with a few dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Love You

Today I am sharing a Valentine's Day card that I made with one of the super adorable Bebuuni Stamps from Crafter's Companion.

I colored the image with Spectrum Noir Illustrator Pens and Sparkle Pens.

The pink background paper is from the English Cottage Garden Paper Pad. The other papers are just from my scrap stash.

I finished the card off with some flowers, a doily and some pearl accents and wood veneer heart that I colored with matching Illustrator pens and then colored over with the clear Sparkle Pen.

Illustrator Pens used: Vintage Pink, Cocktail Pink, Rose Blush, Fruit Pink, Dusty Pink, Rose, Blossom, Wisteria.
